We are receiving exciting news from various summer schools, youth camps, and institutes across the country where Bahá’ís and friends of the Faith from all backgrounds are learning, collaborating, and transforming together. Pictured above are just a few pictures from the Oceans of Light Summer School in the Northwest, a Youth Camp in Kansas City, and the Southern Flame Summer School in Florida.
The increased activities during the summer months require resources and material support; however, the Funds of the Faith usually experience a shortfall during these vital months. To meet the $54 million goal set before us, contributions to the National Fund should total approximately $2.8 million from each Bahá’í month; however, as of July 8, so far this fiscal year, we are averaging about $1.5 million every 19 days.
As the Champion Builders of the World Order of Bahá’u’lláh, we can come together to ensure continued support of these 'society-building' activities in 'ever greater measures' and support the vital activities that occur during the summer months.
Has your community planned any special FUNdraising efforts for the summer months?
As Bahá’ís, we have the privilege of having a direct relationship with each of the senior funds of the Faith, while maintaining a direct focus on continually supporting the National Fund. Unrestricted (not earmarked) contributions towards the National Fund goal allow for flexibility in supporting the many activities of the Faith.

The unity of the believers, rich and poor alike, in their support of the Fund will be a source of spiritual confirmations far beyond our capacity to envisage.

Understanding Our Sacred Obligation
Each fund serves a specific purpose and supports different aspects of the Bahá'í Faith. It is essential to understand the role of each fund and how they contribute to the overall mission of the Bahá'í community. It is important to have a thorough understanding of the funds and to build relationships with each of the funds. It is through the instrument of the Bahá’í Fund that the Bahá’í community ensures the necessary material means are available at every level – local, regional, national, continental, and intercontinental to meet the ends it must pursue at any given time.
What material means are needed to advance the society-building process of the Faith? What resources are required, both materially and spiritually? Use your community’s activities as an example, and reflect about the various resources needed such as natural resources, human resources, technical resources, financial resources, organizational resources, and intellectual resources, etc.

“There should be a continual flow of funds to the national treasury of the National Spiritual Assembly, if that body wishes to properly administer the manifold and ever-increasing activities of the Faith. Every Bahá’í, no matter how poor, must realize what a grave responsibility he has to shoulder in this connection, and should have confidence that his spiritual progress as a believer in the World Order of Bahá’u’lláh will largely depend upon the measure in which he proves, in deeds, his readiness to support materially the divine institutions of His Faith.”

Planned Giving
Bequests and Beneficiary Designations
As we reflect on simple ways to extend our support for the Cause into the future, two of the most common forms of planned giving are including a bequest in a will or trust, or naming the National Spiritual Assembly as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, or other asset. Through these thoughtful acts of stewardship, the fruits of a lifetime of devotion can continue to strengthen the work of the Faith for generations to come.
These gifts require no change in current finances, yet they offer a meaningful and lasting way to support the continued advancement of the Cause.

Youth Corner
Below is a note from one of the youth who recently attended a Young, Broke, and Spiritual workshop presented by the Office of the Treasurer in collaboration with the Local Spiritual Assembly of Frisco, TX:
Before attending the workshop on June 13, I understood that the Bahá’í Fund was important, but I did not fully appreciate the deeper meaning behind it. After the workshop, I feel much more connected to the Fund and its purpose. It helped me understand that giving is not about the amount we contribute, but about the spirit of sacrifice and love behind it. Even the smallest contribution has great value when it is given sincerely. The workshop strengthened my understanding of the importance of supporting the Faith through the Fund, and I now feel more inspired and connected to this act of service.
