National Bahá’í Fund Update

As of October 29, contributions to the funds rolling up to the National Bahá’í Fund totaled $19.6 million, leaving $34.4 million to be raised by April 30, 2027, to meet our annual goal.

Among the many vital endeavors supported by the Institution of the Fund are the Bahá’í Schools and Learning Centers. These cherished institutions, including Green Acre, Bosch, and Louhelen, provide spaces for learning, consultation, action, and reflection, nurturing spiritual growth and strengthening community life. Contributions to the Funds of the Faith help sustain these institutions through ongoing maintenance, educational programs, and other essential operations.

We are grateful for the continued support of the Friends, and remain confident that together, through our prayers, our service, and our material contributions, we can meet the needs of the Faith.

As Bahá’ís, we have the privilege of having a direct relationship with each of the senior funds of the Faith, while maintaining a direct focus on continually supporting the National Fund. Unrestricted (not earmarked) contributions towards the National Fund goal allow for flexibility in supporting the many activities of the Faith.

Bosch Bahá’í School's Open House

On October 10, friends in the area gathered for a special Open House—a day to reconnect, share cherished memories, and see the progress of the rebuilding efforts.

The program was designed to celebrate Bosch’s rich history while offering a glimpse into its future. Through a presentation about the school, conversations about the rebuilding efforts, and tours of the grounds, friends were invited to reflect on the generations of lives that Bosch has touched and the possibilities that its renewal will bring.

To keep the Bosch campus restorations and improvements on schedule and moving forward without interruption, the National Assembly has borrowed about $10 million from its financial reserves to fund the project.

Through our collective generosity and sacrifice, we can help ensure that Bosch rises renewed—stronger, more resilient, and ready to serve as a beacon of learning for generations to come.

Moments of Reflection

“The unity of the believers, rich and poor alike, in their support of the Fund will be a source of spiritual confirmations far beyond our capacity to envisage.”

~The Universal House of Justice

Voluntary Giving - Part 3

The concept of focusing our resources leads to priorities in giving. “The beloved Guardian has explained that the general and national interests of the Cause take precedence over local ones; thus contributions to local funds are secondary to those to national funds.” ~ Universal House of Justice, August 1985. In 1993, we received this wonderful explanation of priorities by the Supreme Body:

“.…We see, therefore, that there is a hierarchy of priority which begins with the Universal House of Justice and its two sources of funding, the Bahá’í International Fund and the Right of God; which continues to the Continental Bahá’í Funds, and then on to National Funds. Every other appeal, however worthy the purpose, can reasonably be said to come after all these other needs are fully met. Striking the right balance is the job of each individual and each Assembly, based on their information and the promptings of their hearts.”

For Reflection:

The Universal House of Justice explains that each believer must prayerfully strike the right balance in supporting the various Funds of the Faith. How can a growing understanding of the priorities of the Cause, together with a heart inspired by love for God and humanity, guide our decisions about where and how we contribute?

Planned Giving

Planned Giving: Looking to the Future

In a previous Bahá’í Fund Bulletin, we explored Bahá’u’lláh’s loving counsel in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas: “Unto everyone hath been enjoined the writing of a will.”

Writing a will allows us to express our wishes for the care of our loved ones and the distribution of our property. It can also provide an opportunity to support the continued development of the Faith beyond our lifetime.

A simple step to consider: If you have a will, take a moment to reflect on whether it still reflects your wishes and whether you would like to include the National Spiritual Assembly in your plans. If you are preparing a will, you may wish to consider this possibility as well.

Every person's circumstances and wishes are different. If you would like to learn more about including the Faith in your plans, the Office of the Treasurer would be happy to assist.
