The Office of the Treasurer is excited to bring you another update on the universal participation campaign, “Champion Builders - The Time is Now.” 

Our hearts are overjoyed by the many stories of love and generosity that we have been receiving from the friends of all ages and from every corner of our American Bahá’í community. For example, recently, one of the dear treasurers shared with us that a 10-year-old child in their community heard about the needs of the National Fund at Feast and felt so strongly about wanting to be a part of achieving the goal that she began her own recycling business. She started collecting and saving every bottle and can she could and recycled them to earn money which she then contributed to the fund. Her local assembly provided her with love and encouragement and was inspired by her initiative.

As of April 20th, the current contributions toward the National Fund goal had reached $45.1 million, leaving $2.9 million to reach the $48 million goal set to assist meeting the needs of the Plan as well as our Community’s domestic, continental, and international obligations. We can all participate - whether it is through prayers, acts of service, and/or sacrificial contributions. We are confident that together, we can arise to meet and exceed the goal and ensure the material support needed “to raise up vibrant, outward looking communities.”

IRA Charitable Rollover

Are you 70 1/2 or older?

At this age, you may be interested in the IRA Charitable Rollover, which allows you to roll over a contribution from your IRA directly to the National Spiritual Assembly. This becomes available once you are 70½ or older, it is a nontaxable event, and up to $105,000 can be contributed in a single year.
